I worked at both ADG and DNA (Dezine News) with Cheryl for about 25 years. She was one of the most caring women I have ever had the pleasure to work with, and her heart knew no boundaries. No matter the health issues she faced, or the personal tragedies she endured in the untimely deaths of two children, Cheryl had a smile, a kind word and an unparalleled level of concern for every member of her work family.

Cheryl gave me the best piece of advice I received as a new mom when she told me to always keep a clean top in my infant's diaper bag because "you never know when you'll be spit up on or peed on and need to clean up." It was a classic case of Cheryl caring and sharing, with her added advice to keep my makeup bag in the diaper bag as well. She wanted to make sure that a new mom was prepared to look and feel her best at all times!

When my mother died a few months later, there was Cheryl waiting in my office my first day back at work with a gorgeous plant, a beautiful sympathy card and the biggest hug anyone could ever want.

All of us at DNA will miss Cheryl's smiles, her infectious laugh and her dedication. Even after a serious bout with illness, she came to work and pulled her IV stand around with her with the best attitude in the world.

She was truly one in a million and every one of us who knew Cheryl was blessed to have her in our lives. May she rest in peace and may the wonderful memories of Cheryl comfort all who knew her.

I will always remember Cheryl for her loving and caring spirit. Her strength and resilience still amazes me....for despite the trials she endured, she found a way to carry on living a life focused not on herself, but on others. At work, she was always one to call me or text me when there was severe weather...she knew I had a long commute and would always just "check in" to make sure I made it home safe. I tear up thinking about her--so sweet, loving and caring--I've never experienced that anywhere else from any other coworker in my life. Her children and grandchildren were her heart's treasure...she would often talk about them and how much she cared for them. Although I don't personally know any of them or her family members, I venture to say she was the glue that held things together.

I will always also remember her smile and her welcoming demeanor any day I passed by her office. I recall her always having a goodie tray on hand and offering us snacks. I never told her this, but the peanut butter crackers I picked up late one afternoon, became my "lunch" after a very hectic and long day. How I wish I had called her to personally "thank her" that day, but I missed that opportunity. It reminds me that this is why anytime anyone does anything for us, be it big or small, praise and thanks should be given at that very moment, lest you be left with regrets. For as small as Cheryl may have felt her giving gesture was, I savored those crackers that day like it was a prime steak dinner! :) LOL!

Forever I am grateful to Cheryl for who she was to me. I pray God grants her heavenly peace and rest and also ask Him to watch over all of her beloved family. I will miss talking to her and anytime there's a severe storm or weather coming, no doubt I will look up to heaven and "check in" on her like she always did we me. Love you and miss you tons, Cheryl. Rest in Peace, dear friend.
