Emily (Gallo) Berry passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at a group care home in Grand Prairie, TX. She was 97 years old.
Emily was born on May 26, 1923 in Cambridge, MA where she lived until 1953 when she moved to Texas with her husband and children. She also lived in Colorado and New Hampshire later in her life.

Emily was a first generation American. Her parents were born in the southern Italy region of Calabria immigrating to the USA in 1920. Her father was a WW I combat veteran in the Italian Army. Her mother maintained a traditional Italian home where the family joined together for big meals at every excuse.
Emily married Luther Hudson Berry on July 28, 1945.They met in Cambridge while Luther was a WW II soldier. They were together for 54 years until he passed away in 2000. Emily was a stay at home mom in the true 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s tradition making sure that her family had home cooked meals, a clean house, and attended church. She was a social person that loved holidays, family gatherings, and the social aspects of church. She had many friends wherever she lived.
Emily was a beautiful woman. Her sister, Teresa, once commented that Emily could not pass a mirror without looking at herself. That was an insightful comment.

Emily was a wonderful lady! I remember many summers getting to visit with Emily and Luke in Colorado where my parents, Keith and Darleen Harrison had a Summer home there in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. My family looked forward to seeing them every Summer! Emily and Luke were like grandparents to my brother and me. We send our love to all of the family. ❤️ Jennifer Harrison, Norman, Ok
