On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Irma Margaret Pacheco, loving wife, mother, and grandma/baba, passed away at the age of 76.

Visitation and Rosary Service will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019, 4pm - 6pm at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas, with a Rosary at 5:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019, at 10.00am at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas.

Memorials: Donations may be made to The Sunshine Kids Foundation, 2814 Virginia Street, Houston, TX 77098. (713)524-1264

Irma was born on March 8, 1943, to Jesus and Maria (Galindo) Molinar. She grew up in Deming, New Mexico and attended New Mexico State University and the University of Texas at Arlington where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Irma worked as an accountant in the oil and gas and healthcare industries for over thirty years. She married Richard Henry Pacheco on August 9, 1963, having met back in kindergarten when they sat across from each other in class. Together, Richard and Irma raised two children, Patrick and Angela.

Irma had a talent and passion for all things artistic and creative and took great joy in painting with watercolors, oils, and pastels and writing poetry. She was a competitive game player, particularly with Scrabble. As all who were lucky enough to come over for dinner at the Pacheco household can attest, Irma was an amazing chef, and she and Richard always enjoyed a home filled with friends and family sharing wonderful food. However, her greatest love was simply spending time with her husband, her children, and her grandchildren, and she was (almost) always a willing participant in her family’s adventures and escapades. She was known for her beautiful smile, kindness, compassion, and devotion to her family and friends.

Irma was preceded in death by her father, Jesus, her mother, Maria, and her siblings Nicolasa Gutierrez, Laura Molinar, Celia Pruitt, Maria Merrifield, Soccoro Acosta, Christina Webber, and Jose Antonio Molinar. She is survived by her husband Richard, son Patrick Pacheco, daughter Angela Gette, son-in-law Brent Gette, grandchildren Richard Grant Pacheco, Patrick John Pacheco II, and Caroline Grace Gette, sister Yolanda Scheihing, several brothers-in-law, her sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

To Richard, Pat and Angela I'm so sorry. I remember so many nights sitting with your parents and baby Angela watching basketball games. My best memory of Irma was she could cook and bake. Her cheesecake is still the best cheesecake I've ever had. Renee Corbitt

I often find it strange that you can get to know and love someone by correspondence alone! Irma and I became artist friends years ago. We often thought we would get together and meet in person one day. That was not to be! I included her in my daily prayer each and every morning!, asking God to heal her. I shall miss her dearly! But I still look forward to seeing her one day in God’s time! Bless you all !

I’m so sad to have to say goodbye to one of the kindest, most thoughtful ladies I have ever known. Irma was always so supportive and generous; on the morning of my wedding she sent my mom flowers. That’s just the kind of person she was- always thinking of others and sharing her beautiful heart. She touched so many lives and we are all better people for having known her.

Much love,
Ali (Malahowski) Cherek
