I have been in complete denial and numb since I heard that Julie passed away. I lived across the street from her in elementary school, Julie was 3 or so years older than me. I admired her and like everyone I'm sure, I was in awe of her beautiful hair. instead of brushing a little kid off, she did the complete opposite, she became my friend. Everytime I rang her doorbell she would let me come in and hang out with her in her room. We would listen to records, talking and laughing. She had such a kind way about her and she always made me feel special. I have had long hair most of my life, that comes from Julie. I haven't seen her since I was 16 years old and made the decision that I would not let another year go by. I was going to visit her when she was well and able to visit. I never dreamed she wouldn't be going home and I would never see her again. I blew it, years of opportunities to sit, talk and laugh with my friend that I hold so close to my heart. We have talked many times on facebook and messenger. She absolutely adored her daughter and grandbabies. I offer my deepest sympathies, my love and prayers to her family. I know you all have suffered so much loss in the last month and my heart breaks for you all. May God wrap His loving arms around you.
I love you Julie, Big Sis, forever
Love, Shanna Echols, your Little Sis
