Obituary

Raymond Mitchell, a loving husband and father, passed away suddenly at age 53 on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

The family will have a memorial service to honor Raymond later in June, when the Corona Virus restrictions are lifted.

Raymond was born December 2, 1966, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was passionate about serving and mentoring young people and served Jesus through Young Life, Sports Quest, church youth groups and mission trips to Mexico, New Orleans and various other locations. He served as the director of technology and coached baseball and football at Pantego Christian Academy for over 20 years. Raymond was intentional in his relationships, always making sure that others felt important and loved. His bear hugs will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father Don Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Glenda, daughter Rebecca, and son Caleb. Survivors also include his brother Carl Mitchell and wife Kandace, brother George Mitchell, sisters Leata Roberts and Edna Mitchell, mother Sophia Mitchell, step-mother Linda Mitchell, uncle William Sebestyen and wife Ellen, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held at a later date due to current restrictions.
