Rickey Glen Autrey, a good and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, went to his Lord on August 6, 2020.

A Memorial Service for Rickey will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Tate Springs Baptist Church.

Rickey was born September 17, 1955 to Billie Barfield and Melvin Autrey,

Rick was a graduate of South Grand Prairie High School. He cut hair the majority of his career and was the owner of Garden Plaza Barber Shop. Rick shared life with his customers and built unique relationships with them. He was a trustworthy friend and confidant. His greatest accomplishment was being a loving and dedicated husband, father, O-Pa and friend. Whether at the barber shop, bowling alley, golf course or baseball game, Rick always greeted you with a smile and a hug. His infectious laugh brightened any mood. He will be missed by all and received with joy by the saints.

Rick is survived by his wife, Terri of 36 years and by their children, Scott and his wife Natalie; and Derrick and his soon-to-be-wife, Jennifer.
Rick was O-Pa to Brock, Beckett, Kamron and Isaac.
He is also survived by his brother, Garry Autrey, and his wife Margaret.

“The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.” Pr.20:7
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Tate Springs Baptist Church.

Our deepest condolences to Terri, Scott and Derrick. I was a customer for over 25 years or so and only just heard the shocking news when I got a haircut Thursday. My fondest memory actually is of Scott who I saw on the roster of a Cape Cod league game years ago and we talked over the fence. I don't know who was more thrilled him or us. Rick and I talked about that a lot. He had quite a staff at the shop and my condolences go to them as well.

I miss you my friend, and barber since 1995. I was so shocked to learn of your passing today and feel so bad for your family's loss. I received the news of your passing from your wife, Terri, when she responded to my text to your phone trying to set-up my next haircut. I miss you Rick, and I love you so very much.

Terri, I'm so sorry for your loss, and I pray for you and yours and further pray that the good Lord gives you and your family love and peace with Rick's passing.

Andy and I were lucky to have met Rick and Terry shortly after our move to Texas in 1998. Memories of Rick , finding a bowling ball for me through a friend, that ball is the only ball that I have ever bowled an 800 series with in my 45 years of bowling. Rick was also a fixture in Turkey Shoot golf tournament, rain or shine, ice or snow, Rick and the boys were always there. He was always the first to ask me if the the "tournament was on" and motivated me to get on the ball to set it up. Great memories, many in photos I will be happy to share.

He will be missed by many. Our prayers and condolences to Terry and family. May his memory be eternal. RIP

Rick was my barber for 26 years and enjoyed our visits. As a Cowboy season ticket holder I had the pleasure of having him attend a Monday night game that my wife couldn't go to with me and if was such a nice evening. Prayers and thoughts are with you as you go through this difficult time and the Lord will give you strength.
