Susan was my scrapbooking buddy for the last 19 years... we crafted together and shared so much. We met at Martin HS both teaching kids... she was an excellent math teacher. Even though I do not teach math I would refer kids to her for tutoring. There are 20 years between our ages but when we were together it never mattered... the years disappeared. Susan was the joy in my life... she taught me to seek the happiness in life. This is what I will treasure the most about Susan, she never judged anyone.. no matter what.. she would often remind me that "Sarah, you do not know what they are going through.. kindness is a choice and maybe be more kinder next time" as she would teach me... I became a better teacher because of her. On scrapbook weekends we would laugh, cry and share so many stories and treasure each other. When I got engaged I asked Susan to be a Bridesmaid... she quickly said "Sure I will do anything for your wedding"... then quickly said "but, wait... you want me to stand up in front of people.. nope... and I am not speaking" I just smiled. Susan was huge part of my life and my wedding. She did all of the things that I could not.. she is a treasure. When we had our son Susan instantly became "Aunt Susan". In the past week I have picked up the phone to dial her number to ask something, to plan a trip to our scrapbook store, to share a new crafting find. My heart breaks but I know that sweet Susan is at peace. Susan, I miss you so much.

Our family has lost a warm, friendly, loving, devoted, genuine and caring member. Susan encompassed all the great virtues a wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother should have. She respected those around her, and, in turn, gained the respect of her colleagues, family and friends. Susan was a compassionate person and she responded to those in need with a special smile, a helping hand or a few kind words. She treated everyone with respect and kindness. Susan was an humble person, and her humility gained her integrity and empathy. She could always identify with the misfortunes of others. Lastly, Susan was a woman of great courage. She faced every obstacle with tenacity and grace. I've learned a great deal from knowing Susan, and I'm proud she was my sister-in-law. I miss her already. Sandra B. Edwards
